The Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Lindôra Araújo, asked this Monday (29) that the Federal Supreme Court (STF) accept the complaint against Senator Sergio Moro (União Brasil-PR) for speeches out of context published in a video that would insinuate a scheme to sell habeas corpus by Minister Gilmar Mendes.

In the petition to which People’s Gazette had access, Lindôra claims that the senator’s allegation that the speech was nothing more than a joke at a June party had a “joking and anecdotal” tone.

“The jocular and anecdotal tone of the statements that are offensive to the honor of a magistrate at the top of the Brazilian Judiciary Power is a private interpretation of the accused who, to all evidence, did not find resonance in the victim who, aware of the serious offense and the crime committed in his disfavor, immediately , represented the Federal Public Ministry”, he said in the dispatch.

Lindôra also writes that the post that Moro later made recanting the speech does not indicate “complete, total and unrestricted retraction of his offensive lines to the honor of Minister of the Federal Supreme Court”.

Moro was contacted by the report, but declined to comment on the deputy prosecutor’s request.
