Deputy Júnior Favacho wants the Supply Center to boost small and medium-sized farmers’ businesses in Amapá – News of Brazil

The chairman of the Committee on Agriculture and Supply (CAB) of the Legislative Assembly of Amapá (Alap) Junior Deputy Favacho (MDB) proposed, this Monday (29), the creation of a State Supply Center (Cease) in the municipality of Macapá to facilitate the logistics of transporting agricultural production and benefit small and medium-sized producers. The theme will be debated in a seminar promoted by the commission and that will count on the participation of authorities, specialists and rural producers of the state.
To enrich the debate, Members of the CAB approved the invitation to economist and professor Rosivaldo Batista, author of books on the subject and with vast professional experience. Batista was president of Ceasa do Pará, secretary of Economy of the municipality of Belém (PA) and North/Northeast director of the Brazilian Association of Supply Centers (Embrace). In the opinion of the deputy Junior Favacho, this experience is important for the debate on this topic to generate positive results.
“It is necessary that we promote a debate that listens to specialists and entrepreneurs and rural producers of family agriculture who should benefit from this measure. The creation of a Ceasa in Macapá will bring a huge benefit to agribusiness in the state, facilitating the logistics of transporting what is produced in the region. Today the producer has a disproportionate cost to distribute the product throughout the state. With Ceasa, he will only worry about producing, and the state will take care of the logistics”he stated.
Junior also believes that the creation of a Ceasa with a focus on agribusiness, especially family farming, it will interconnect the marketing chain with other Ceasas in Brazil, and even abroad. “We need to develop the first sector to generate employment and income for the population in a sustainable way, and agribusiness in Amapá has enormous potential to fulfill this role. We are committed to finding solutions to the demands of our farmers”commented.
Ecological Zoning
Another debate that CAB should promote is the implementation of Ecological-Economic Zoning (ZEE) of the state, and, for that, the commission approved the invitation to the Director-President of the Institute of Scientific and Technological Research of Amapá (iepa), together with the Coordination of the State Ecological and Economic Zoning Program of Amapá. With this meeting, CAB wants to know the status of the program, the implementation schedule and the sources of expenses for the implementation of the ZEE.
Junior asked the commission to extend the invitation for this debate to the president of the Association of Municipalities of Amapá (Ameap), Carlos Sampaio (Mayor of Amapá), so that the municipalities also participate in this discussion. “Many city halls are advancing in the environmental licensing of land for producers, as is the case of Mayor Furlan, in Macapá. The development of agriculture in the state is mainly due to these initiatives, and we want the government to also have this attitude”said the deputy.
The ZEE aims to reconcile economic development with the preservation and conservation of the environment and, thus, generate an improvement in the quality of life of the population. In addition, it has the attribution of providing subsidies to guide public policies related to the planning, use and occupation of the territory, considering the potentialities and limitations of the physical, biotic and socioeconomic environment. The implementation of the ZEE will bring employment and survival opportunities to thousands of families in Amapá.
