Deputy files a police report against Dino for alleged aggression; minister denies

Federal deputy General Girão (PL-RN) filed a police report against the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, for alleged aggression. The episode would have occurred on the 14th, at Santos Dumont Airport, in Rio de Janeiro. The minister denies the physical attacks and says he was insulted by the deputy. Faced with the insults, according to Dino, “the reaction was to approach and ask the aggressor to stop being rude and rude.”
In the document, according to the newspaper’s findings The globe It’s from UOL portal, Girão alleges that Dino “tried to intimidate him, getting into a fight and attacking him in the chest area.” The incident report also points out that the minister had attacked the deputy in the chest, more than once, “in a sneaky and scenographic way”. During a speech in the plenary, the parliamentarian also stated that he was called a “kid” by Dino. The deputy requested images of the airport in court.
“Dino passed me, from a distance, and I gestured with my head. He came to ask if I was talking to him. Dino placed both hands on my chest and told me to take care of myself. He was accompanied by federal police officers. I asked him not to touch me and he called me a kid. This guy is being considered for the Federal Supreme Court (STF), it’s absurd. If he behaves like this before having such an important position in hand, imagine after,” said Girão about what happened.
The newspaper The globe reported that PL, Girão’s party, is considering filing a representation with the Public Ministry (MPF) against Dino. While government officials treat the matter as a “controversy concocted to attack Dino”, as the Minister of Justice is one of the most popular names to take over the vacancy on the Federal Supreme Court (STF), which will be opened with the retirement of Minister Rosa Weber.
