Deputy emerges as an alternative to City Hall of SP – 02/07/2023 – Panel

The deputy governor of São Paulo, Felício Ramuth (PSD), began to be mentioned by members and allies of the Tarcísio de Freitas government (Republicans) as a possible alternative for the dispute for mayor of the capital in 2024.

According to reports obtained by the Panel, this will depend on two variables: the first, being successful in the project to recover Cracolândia, a mission he received from Tarcísio. A good performance in an area of ​​such visibility would help boost your name electorally.

In addition, an eventual candidacy would gain ground if the current mayor of São Paulo, Ricardo Nunes (MDB), does not grow politically in the city. The assessment of allies is that Nunes, although he has money to spend, has not yet established a mark in the capital.

He has mentioned grandiose ideas, such as establishing zero tariffs on public transport and building a tunnel under the Minhocão, in an attempt to create a legacy.

Plan A of Tarcísio’s group is to support Nunes’ re-election, but there is concern about his electoral viability in a contest in which the left must present a competitive name, federal deputy Guilherme Boulos (PSOL).

In July 2022, a Datafolha poll showed that Nunes’ mandate was approved by 18% of the population of São Paulo. Rejection was 31%.

To be a candidate in São Paulo, Ramuth would have to transfer his electoral domicile, which is currently in São José dos Campos, a city he once administered.

When contacted, the vice-governor told the Panel that he saw “zero chance” of running for mayor. “These are rumors of those who want to see a work that is starting already be deconstructed for political reasons”, he says.
