Manaus (AM) — State deputy Alessandra Campêlo (Podemos) will ask the State Department of Education and School Sports (Seduc) to reopen the Nossa Senhora das Graças State School, in Beco do Macedo, Nossa das Graças neighborhood, Central-South Zone of Manaus. The matter was addressed during the Plenary Session on Wednesday (7), at the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam).
The demand was brought to the attention of the deputy by councilor Allan Campêlo (Podemos) and guardianship councilor Beatriz Fernandes. According to them, the school underwent renovation a year and a half ago, and the students were moved to a temporary building at the Olímpico Clube, on Avenida Constantino Nery.
“For a year and a half now, young people from Beco do Macedo have been studying in a temporary building on Constantino Nery. They go through sun and rain to go to school. They (the councilor and the guardianship counselor) asked me for support in order to get Seduc to reopen this school as quickly as possible”,
said Alessandra.
The parliamentarian, who lived in that region in her childhood and adolescence, informed that the building where the Nossa Senhora das Graças State School operates belongs to the Archdiocese of Manaus and is rented by the State Government.
“I am also asking Seduc to make an addendum to the contract so that it also pays for the rent of the court, so that the community can use it. It is an area lacking sports spaces and leisure spaces. We have a zumba project there and other important ones to take to the area”, concluded the Podemos parliamentarian.
