Deputies approve authorization for the government of Amapá to make a loan of up to R$ 500 million – News of Brazil

In a session held this Thursday (4), the Legislative Assembly unanimously approved a bill forwarded by Mayor Clécio Luís that authorizes the Executive Branch to contract a credit operation with Banco de Brasília-BRB, up to the amount of R$ 500 million, to finance actions of the Amapá do Futuro program.
In the message sent to the Legislature, the governor points out that the credit operation aims to implement relevant public policies within the actions of the Amapá do Futuro Program, such as works in the health area, for the purpose of promoting maintenance of state public health equipment, and works in the areas of urban infrastructure and housing, for the purpose of promoting economic development actions in the state.
Comprising 18 works and with an estimated implementation period of 24 months, the governor ensures that the program will bring short and medium term benefits to the regional economy. Among the short-term benefits is the improvement in the state’s public health system. As for the medium-term benefits, it will be possible to observe the improvement in urban mobility in the metropolitan region of the capital and the improvement in the basic housing conditions of dozens of people who live, in the current scenario, in areas of ressaca in the capital, where the road drainage system is directed.
“In this same path, health, as a supreme good and fundamental right, is one of the areas of government with immediate, absolute and non-negotiable priority. It means to say that, in addition to implementing modern management tools, appropriate measures are being implemented in the first days of the government of the current year for the maintenance of state public health equipment, being a strategic objective of the government of Amapá to promote public health and the well-being of the population, through integrated and universal policies, with the adoption of innovation, modernization, democratization of access to services and appreciation of health professionals, and for this, the credit operation is being claimed”records Clécio.
As for development and housing, the governor mentions that it is the duty of the management to plan the infrastructure with integrated elements between socioeconomic development and logistics, as well as to complete the work on the housing units with integrated sanitation in Aturiá and build 1500 housing units in Residencial Miracema, in Stages II , III and IV of the metropolitan region, provided for in the government program published by the Superior Electoral Court for the current mandate.
In the message, the governor recalls that works generate jobs and direct revenue, as well as renovated or built hospitals allow the transfer of new resources to the state by enabling the cost of beds and the cost of operating new establishments. Therefore, despite the lack of concrete measurable data at this stage, the socioeconomic benefits brought by the program outweigh the costs of implementing it, making it strategic to achieve regional growth.
