Deltan asks that the Chamber not recognize the ineligibility of his candidacy

Federal deputy Deltan Dallagnol (Podemos-PR) presented his defense to the Corregedoria of the Chamber of Deputies against the decision of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that rejected his candidacy.
In a document filed this Tuesday (30), he asks the Chamber of Deputies not to recognize the decision of the electoral justice, claiming that the TSE process invaded the legislative competence of Congress and violated the ample defense, as well as the legal deadlines established for the judiciary to declare ineligibility.
The deputy from Paraná, former head of the Operation Car Wash task force, also asked that, at least, the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Deputies await the final and unappealable decision on the case against him before determining the loss of his mandate, since Dallagnol will still appeal the decision of the TSE to the Federal Supreme Court (STF).
The deputy was officially notified of the TSE’s decision last week, through the Official Gazette, with a five-day deadline to present a defense to the Chamber’s Internal Affairs, which ended on Tuesday (30). After the end of the procedure, the process is forwarded to the Board of Directors of the Chamber which, according to the Constitution, is the body responsible for declaring the loss of mandate.
This Tuesday afternoon, the decision of the TSE that resulted in the impeachment of Deltan Dallagnol will be debated by jurists in a commission in the Chamber of Deputies.
