Delegation of the selection has not yet received the Cup award from the CBF

Members of the Brazilian national team delegation have yet to receive part of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar awards. The transfer of funds is made by CBF, with money sent by FIFA.

The CBF has not yet made the total deposit of the amount referring to the classification until the quarterfinals of the Cup.

The players have already received it, but there are members of the coaching staff who were in Qatar and responsible for other functions in the selection who have not seen the money fall into the account so far, according to the report found.

In this situation, there are already dismissed professionals. The CBF says that its providers received the full amount, but the report found that there are open cases.

The fact that the amount only appeared about three months after the World Cup displeased some players.

The CBF says that there was a delay by FIFA and denies delay in its part of the process. She also alleges that she anticipated part of the money to the players, in comparison with the day that FIFA made the transfer.

The entity also states that it will pay off the pending items on this month’s payroll, which is paid on the 30th.

WHAT THE CBF CLAIMS

“The question presented by the report does not correspond to the truth. On the occasion of the commitment of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) with the coaching staff and players, regarding the award of the campaign in the World Cup, it was established that, at the moment that FIFA transferred the quota corresponding to the CBF for the performance of the Brazilian National Team in the competition, the value would be destined directly to the players and technical commission.

However, as the process by FIFA took longer than expected, the CBF advanced the payment for the players to March 2, that is, 18 days ago. Subsequently, on March 10, FIFA transferred the funds. And, on the same day 10, all service providers who participated in the World Cup received the amounts owed.

Former CBF employees, who were part of the technical commission, will have the amounts corresponding to the award paid on the entity’s March payroll, considering all taxes related to this payment, as governed by Brazilian labor legislation. Therefore, there is no longer any pendency on the part of the CBF regarding the payment related to the World Cup”.

WHERE DO THE AWARDS COME FROM?

The CBF is entitled to US$ 17 million (R$ 89 million) due to the fact that Brazil reached the quarterfinals, Brazil stopped in Croatia, on penalties.

Part of this money is distributed among the members of the delegation, according to the terms agreed before the World Cup with the members of the selection group.

Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF, told UOL during the Cup that the percentages were defined on the FIFA date of September 2022, in Paris.

The CBF warned how much each one, individually, would earn in all possible scenarios of performance of the team in Qatar.

The Brazilian team returns to the field for the first time since the World Cup next Saturday (25), to face Morocco in friendly. The ball rolls at 7 pm (Brasília time) and is the debut of interim coach Ramon Menezes.
