The economic development strategy based on oil exploration off the coast of Amapá will be the subject of a public hearing that will take place in the municipality of Oiapoque, between the 15th and 20th of May. The meeting is an initiative proposed by state deputy Delegado Inacio (PDT).

“At this public hearing, we will discuss the economic opportunities generated by oil exploration off the coast of Amapá and the strategies to maximize these benefits. We are going to analyze the possibilities of attracting investments, creating qualified jobs and promoting regional development, with a focus on preserving the environment”, emphasized Ignatius.
The event seeks to bring together, in addition to citizens interested in the subject, organized civil society and local authorities in this important discussion about the Petrobrás project, called “Equatorial Margin”, which includes the block located on the coast of Amapá and which extends to the coast from Rio Grande do Norte. The company’s big bet to maintain the security of oil production in Brazil, with reserves estimated at 30 billion barrels and an investment of 3 billion dollars in five years.
For the parliamentarian, popular listening through the public hearing is of fundamental importance to discuss the main positive aspects and points of concern of the new economic activity represents for the cross-border region, as well as the studies, and planning of prevention and mitigation of impacts social, environmental and cultural.

Delegado Inacio will represent the Legislative Assembly of Amapá (Alap) at the largest oil and gas fair in the world, the Offshore Technology Conference, which will take place in the first week of May, in Texas, United States.
The event is an opportunity to publicize Amapá as the first state to start oil activities within the new border, called the Equatorial Margin, in addition to promoting national and international connections to attract investments, business and commercial partnerships related to oil activities for the state. . The mission has a partnership with the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae-AP).
