The Official Gazette of the Union published this Monday, 15, the release of R$ 186.6 million to be incorporated into the financial limit of medium and high complexity of health in the state of Amapá. The release, made by Minister Nísia Trindade, is the result of intermediation by Senator Davi Alcolumbre between the state government and the health portfolio.

“Guys, look at this important news for Amapá! Our mandate articulated, via the Ministry of Health, more than R$ 100 million to reinforce public health in the state of Amapá”, posted Senator Davi, on social networks, on the afternoon of this Tuesday, the 16th.

Also on social networks, the parliamentarian points out that the resources released by the Ministry of Health are extremely important at this time when the state has declared an emergency situation due to an outbreak of flu and respiratory syndromes.

“Taking care of the health of our people is a priority of our mandate. We will continue working alongside Governor Clécio Luís to guarantee all the necessary resources”, concludes Senator Davi Alcolumbre.

An important step was taken for the socioeconomic development of Amapá, especially with regard to possible oil exploration in the region. This statement was made by Senator Davi Alcolumbre (AP) who participated, this Tuesday afternoon, the 16th, in an audience with the Ministers of Mines and Energy and Integration and Regional Development, Alexandre Silveira and Waldez Góes, respectively.

In the presence of Governor Clécio Luís and other regional leaders, the public hearing discussed the new exploratory frontier for oil and gas in Brazil through the ultra-deep water region of the Brazilian Equatorial Margin, which extends from Amapá, passing through Pará, Maranhão , Piauí, Ceará, to Rio Grande do Norte.

The region is considered promising due to its geological similarity with the sedimentary basins of the Guianas and Suriname, where other companies have announced recent important discoveries of oil and gas, and the reserves in Guyana are already in commercial production. According to Alcolumbre, this is an “unprecedented and extraordinary” perspective for the state to use its natural wealth to grow and, above all, help the population, which still faces high levels of poverty.

“We will fight until the end to guarantee the right of Amapá to enjoy this Brazilian heritage. What we defend is that, first, Ibama authorize Petrobras’ research on the equatorial margin of the Amazon River and, then, see the ‘opportunity’ to carry out oil activities ‘with less environmental impact’ in the region”, stressed Alcolumbre.

Petrobras can only carry out exploration activities after obtaining the operating environmental license. The current phase is exploratory, which consists of prospecting for oil reserves. “Petrobras is the biggest specialist in well drilling in the world. It has already drilled more than a thousand wells in deep waters, with zero accidents. What we want is for us to be allowed to do the research”, pointed out Governor Clécio Luís.

If the existence of commercial oil in these areas is confirmed, the subsequent stage of production development, according to experts, will revert to more jobs, revenue and development of regional economies – and, initially, that of the state of Amapá.

“We are facing a promising exploratory frontier, with important oil potential to be developed. As a son of Amapá, I will defend this agenda in the Federal Senate and in the National Congress with all possible and unimaginable forces. The state calls for help. And this is a possibility of aligning technology and experience, gathering all the conditions to act in a safe and sustainable way, bringing new investments and opportunities for the development of the region and the country”, highlighted Davi Alcolumbre.

According to the Secretary of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels, Pietro Adamo Sampaio Mendes, the country urgently needs to invest in the discovery of new wells, since the peak of oil production should occur in the next five years. “There is no significant risk of having a leak in these surveys. The world and Brazil need to find new oil reserves since our production peak will be reached in 2029 and this is the first time that we don’t have a new frontier to replenish production reserves”, he said.
