Datena says that she should not be the head of the ticket in SP and that she tends to be vice-president – 11/04/2023 – Panel

TV presenter José Luiz Datena (PDT) tells the Panel that he has not given up on participating in the elections for the Mayor of São Paulo in 2024, but that the trend today is for him not to be the head of the ticket. He is analyzing the possibility of trying to become a vice-president for one of the candidates.

The dispute today has Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), Ricardo Nunes (MDB), Tabata Amaral (PSB) and Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil) as the main names. Ricardo Salles tries to be released from the PL to join another party and launch a candidacy.

According to Datena, the recovery process from three surgeries he recently underwent led him to the conclusion that the most appropriate path to follow would be to participate in a ticket without being the main name.

He did not present the “Brasil Urgente” program this Friday (3) and is resting on medical advice until next week.

Due to four previous withdrawals from electoral disputes, Datena is constantly questioned about his willingness to run. He says that in 2024 there will be no retreat.

“I’m recovering from surgeries, it’s my main focus now. But at no point did I give up. I continue and go until the end. But in another composition. Today the biggest trend, with the conversations I’m having, is a composition without being the head of the ticket”, says Datena.

A report by columnist Leonardo Sakamoto, from UOL, showed that he and Tabata met to discuss this composition in which he would be the deputy of the deputy.

As the Panel showed, leaders of PDT, Datena’s party, opened conversations this week about the possibility of supporting Boulos in São Paulo. In this scenario, the presenter would not participate in the ticket, as the psolist reached an agreement according to which his vice-president will be a member of the PT.
