Appointed by the administration of the Brians penitentiary center as a “trusted prisoner”, the cellmate of the player Daniel Alves is a former bodyguard of a soccer star, Ronaldinho.

The information was raised by the daily El Periódico de Catalunya. The newspaper also pointed out that the detainee is named Coutinho, is Brazilian and is serving time for sexual assault.

Alves, 39, has been detained since Friday (20) in the metropolitan area of ​​Barcelona, ​​Spain. He is accused by a young woman of 23 years of having raped her in the bathroom of a nightclub in the city, in the early hours of December 31st.

With Coutinho, the player shares a cell with a bunk bed, bathroom and shower. The two often play ludo, a classic board game, and the older one teaches the newcomer the internal rules of the prison.

In the courtyard, Alves has been talking to other prisoners and giving autographs, according to a convict who was released this Wednesday (25) after serving 14 years of sentence.

The man, who was interviewed by a team from the Telecinco channel, said that he had not been in the same module as the Brazilian, but that it was not difficult to get an autograph in the courtyard.

The former detainee showed a Barcelona T-shirt with the signature and the inscription “I hug with affection”, accompanied by an emoji with a smiley face. According to him, the popularity of the new prisoner has not left anyone indifferent in the Catalan prison, but no one calls him a “rapist” or anything like that.

Daniel Alves usually gets up at 7:40 am to be ready for the count, which takes place at 8 am. Then he drinks coffee and goes to the courtyard. Lunch is at 1pm. On Wednesday (25), the menu had pasta, pork loin and fruit.

Alves spends the afternoon in his cell, and at 5 pm he can return to the courtyard. Dinner is served at 7 pm, and by 9 pm the player is back in the cell. Lights are turned off at 11pm.

Currently, he can receive visits from family members and authorize the names of ten other people. In addition, he is entitled to 20 eight-minute calls per week.

This Thursday (26) would end the period for the defense to present an appeal for Alves to wait in freedom for the end of the investigations. The deadline, however, was extended by a week.

According to Judge Maria Concepción Canton Martín, the Brazilian was jailed, without the right to bail, due to the possibility of escape. To mitigate this risk, the player’s new lawyer, Cristóbal Martell Pérez-Alcalde, intends to present the deed for a house in Esplugas de Llobregat, municipality of Greater Barcelona, ​​where his ex-wife, Dinorah Santana, currently resides.

Another point under study by the defense is to ask that the recording of the camera that one of the policemen was using when talking to the victim in the early hours of the 31st be disregarded from the case file. As it is a spontaneous testimony and without a lawyer, with automatic activation, the defense will try to discard it.
