Brazilian soccer player Daniel Alves was arrested, this Friday (20), by the police of the Spain after being questioned at a police station in barcelona about a sexual assault charge he faces.
The information was confirmed to CNN by the police of Catalonia via Whatsapp. According to a spokeswoman for the institution, the right-back is now available to the judge, in the City of Justice, in Barcelona. “I cannot provide more information”said the spokeswoman.
The City of Justice is an architectural complex in Barcelona whose buildings house a number of judicial bodies – such as courts, judges and legal medical institute (IML) –, in addition to societies and law firms.
According to the Reuters, Alves will appear before a judge later on Friday (20), but it is not clear if he will remain in police custody after the hearing. According to the report of people connected to the player, he went to give a statement “of his own free will, asking for release from Pumas to go to Barcelona, and he is clarifying the facts and denying the accusation”.
