The exhibition took place in the unit’s 12 reference rooms

Manaus (AM) – Activities developed by children who study at the Municipal Center for Early Childhood Education (Cmei) Hermann Gmeiner, of Manaus City Hall, during this school year, were exhibited at the unit’s 3rd Cultural Exhibition, which is located in Alvorada 1, West Zone of the city. The event was attended by family members and the school community.

The Exhibition featured drawings, paintings, cutting and collage, a clothesline with photos of the activities, toys made with recycled materials, among other works carried out in the classroom and in partnership with parents or guardians.

Cmei, coordinated by the Municipal Department of Education (Semed), serves 267 children aged 3 to 5 years, in kindergarten 3, 1st and 2nd period. “This Cmei works on democracy with the community, with children and everything that is here in terms of structure and pedagogical activities is shared with parents. This is how Semed advises that all teaching units work, always in partnership with the family, teachers and students, to provide education together with the main characters”, mentioned the head of the Early Childhood Education Division (DEI), Cláudia Magalhães .

According to the unit manager, Estela Nepomuceno, the activity values ​​and shows everything the children accomplished throughout the school year.

“This moment is to make visible all the learning that children have built throughout the year, with activities carried out in the reference wards or in extra-class together with the family”, explained the manager.

The exhibition took place in the unit’s 12 reference rooms. In the nursery 3 room, visitors found work carried out in the projects “What is my dream?, Tree of Dreams; Reading Rotation, where a family member tells a story to the class; Experimental cuisine and Maker Culture”.

“This is a unique moment for children and also for families, where they can see everything that was developed during the school year. Many parents still think that in early childhood education the child only plays, but it is necessary to understand that playing has a huge importance in learning and the Exhibition presents exactly that”,

said the class teacher, Ketlis Lima.

For Risoleia Lopes, mother of little Valenti, aged 5, the participation of parents in their children’s school lives ensures that they are successful throughout their school lives. “Early childhood education is a foundation for a child’s entire school life, and many people think that school is nothing more than a place to leave their child. Playing at this age is directed and with that happens the development that will reflect later on, you cannot skip steps and parents need to monitor this entire process”, she concluded.
