Criticized Bolsonarists open crisis at Tarcísio base – 05/09/2023 – Politics

Deputies from the base of Governor Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) revolted with a message attributed to a member of the government calling the group a traitor.

The confusion, which opens a crisis in the governing base, occurs amid the discussion of a project to increase the number of police officers, sent to the House by Tarcísio.

Deputies were surprised by the article that increases the contribution value of retirees. The bullet bench had to give an explanation to its voters and met with the governor, who promised to change the measure.

A message attributed to an advisor to the SSP (Secretary of Public Security) accuses Tarcísio’s base of being a traitor.

“The Government was betrayed by the Base in Alesp [Assembleia Legislativa], the only place he was sure would support him until death. First year of government, Tarcisio is paying the 20% of Doria (the bill was for him) and giving another 20.2%!”, says the message, which circulates among deputies.

The text to which the report had access also states that the governor would withdraw the project and only give inflationary replacement. “Tks to everyone for their support, but I think we’ve lost…thank our parliamentary base and our associations.”

Bolsonaristas praised Tarcísio, but reacted in the Alesp plenary this Tuesday (9).

“Today we received a very dismayed message, as already mentioned here, from an advisor to the Security Secretariat accusing the government base of treason, calling us traitors”, said deputy Lucas Bove (PL).

The congressman invited the advisor to tune in to TV Alesp “from the cabinet’s air conditioning” to watch speeches extolling the attitude of Governor Tarcísio. He also stated that the bench’s objective is to improve the “great project” brought by the governor.

Entities linked to the police have exerted strong pressure on deputies, especially those linked to the so-called bullet bench.

Gil Diniz (PL), one of the deputies closest to the Bolsonaro family, was another who mentioned the fact, while chairing the session and reacted.

“You can boo all you want. But these are [deputados] who are trying at all costs [defender os policiais], including being called by advisor secretary of traitors. So it’s an advisor calling this base a traitor and you who are being defended by booing these deputies, “he said.

Another Bolsonarist, Major Mecca (PL) also quoted the message, but stated that he does not believe Tarcísio will withdraw the project from Alesp.

Mecca justified himself to the public present at Alesp by stating that the group went to the governor to present demands. “We came together in a group of deputies so that we don’t get into this wave, which many want to do, of graffitiing Governor Tarcísio de Freitas”, he said, adding that he disagreed with points in the table presented in the law.

The report sought out the Tarcísio government on the matter, which pointed out that the project delivered “proposes an average salary increase of more than 20% for careers in the Public Security forces of São Paulo.”

“The proposed index is significantly higher than the accumulated inflation in the period, according to the IPCA. The current management reiterates its intention to offer a real increase to police officers in the first year of government and that the project follows in Alesp for the analysis of the deputies”, says the management, note.

Opposition deputies took the opportunity to criticize the government for the matter. “For the governor to send the project here, he didn’t talk to the deputies linked to public security, he didn’t talk to the deputies linked to public security, he didn’t talk to leaders of parties, class associations”, said Luiz Marcolino (PT).
