The requests were approved in the morning, before the beginning of the testimony of the former aide-de-camp of the then President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro, Lieutenant Colonel Mauro Cid. Accused of having defrauded vaccination cards against covid-19, including those of Bolsonaro and relatives of the former president, the military man has been detained since May 3.

Cid is also suspected of participating in a conspiracy to reverse last year’s election result, which included possible intervention in the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). On his cell phone, Federal Police (PF) experts found messages that Cid exchanged with other soldiers and that, according to federal deputies and senators who were part of the January 8 CPMI call, reinforce the thesis that the group was plotting a coup. The PF itself has already pointed out that the same messages show that the lieutenant colonel gathered documents to provide legal support for the execution of a coup d’état.

With the exception of a brief initial speech – in which he stated that, despite his proximity to Bolsonaro, provided by his position as assistant to the Presidency, he did not participate in activities related to public administration –, Cid remained silent, not answering the questions he asked. were made to him.
