Negotiations with the concessionaire will define the reduction in the sewage tariff for the next four years

Manaus (AM) – In a meeting on the afternoon of this Wednesday (17), at the Manaus City Council (CMM), the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI) of Águas de Manaus defined that the final report of the investigations will be presented next Wednesday (24) . On Thursday (25), the Term of Management Adjustment (TAG) will be signed, which will provide more transparency in the provision of services, as well as savings for the population.

The commission said that negotiations with the concessionaire will define the reduction in the sewage tariff for the next four years.

The president of the CMM, councilor Caio André (PSC), determined, from the beginning of the CPI, that the entire physical structure and personnel be given, for the good progress of the work of the commission.

“This management opted, from the beginning, for transparency, and has prioritized this in all its actions. It would not be different in a very important CPI for Manaus, which will impact the lives of the population that lives here, and which is receiving all the support of the Board of Directors of the House”, emphasized Caio André.

According to the president of the CPI, councilor Diego Afonso (União Brasil), since the last two weeks, the commission has been holding work meetings to discuss the line of the report, in addition to the Term of Adjustment, which will be one of the biggest gains of the commission.

“TAG is an instrument that subjugates Ageman (Regulatory Agency for Delegated Public Services of Manaus) and Manaus City Hall. It was decided to sign the TAG for the next working meeting, in which we will also approve the report presented by the rapporteur. Next, we will present to the population the items contained in the TAG. I see with great enthusiasm the achievements we are achieving, and the population can expect great results, ”he said.

According to the rapporteur of the CPI, councilor Rodrigo Guedes (Podemos), after the approval of the report by the commission, the document will also pass through the other councilors of the Legislative House.

“If the report is approved, a draft resolution will be generated, which will later be presented and voted on in plenary. And as it has a concrete result for the population, I believe that no councilor will vote against it”, he clarified.

Results

Regarding the results of the TAG, the president of the CPI highlighted that they will appear transparently on the final consumer bill.

“The population is the most affected by this regulatory failure that Ageman has been committing, for not having a clear resolution to punish, a quick and quick follow-up of what has been offered. With this TAG, the Chamber will have an instrument to monitor and punish, in case the goals are not met or the services are not provided with quality”, he said.

Diego Afonso also emphasized the speed with which the CPI’s work was carried out, focusing on saving public resources, in addition to delivering concrete results to the population.

“We had an independent, transparent commission, caring for each councilor, each complaint and, above all, the population, who can expect that the gains will be greater than what has been debated and presented in the last meetings”, he concluded.
