After a maneuver by the president of the CPI of the acts of the 8th of January of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District (CLDF), deputy Chico Vigilante (PT), the name of the former minister of the Institutional Security Office (GSI) of the Presidency of the Republic, general Marco Gonçalves Dias (known as “G. Dias”), was removed from the Commission’s final report presented on Wednesday (29).

G. Dias, who is very close to Lula, came into the CPI’s sights after the leak of internal images from the Palácio do Planalto on the day of the “invasion”, which show the general strolling and interacting calmly with the protesters.

In the middle of reading the report, on Wednesday morning (29), Chico Vigilante informed the members of the Commission that he had decided to allow amendments to be presented to the final report.

Deputies were outraged by the decision which, according to parliamentarians, is not supported by the House’s internal regulations.

In an authoritarian tone, Chico Vigilante said that the decision is up to him. “The decision has been made and I will not concede a point of order here. The extreme right will not win by shouting”, said the president of the Commission.

After the confusion, in an interview with TV Câmara Distrital during the lunch break, deputy Paula Belmonte (Citizenship) said that some deputies were already articulating the removal of G. Dias’ name from the list of indictees.

“The rule was now established by this president (of the CPI) and in a monocratic decision. No parliamentarian was consulted so that this decision could be supported and, even, in the most democratic way, by voting”, said the deputy.

Despite authorizing, after much confusion, the deputies to raise “points of order” against the measure, the president of the CPI maintained the decision and himself requested the removal of G. Dias’ name from the final report.

Chico Vigilante’s request was accompanied by the support of deputies Robério Negreiros (PSD), Fábio Felix (Psol) and Jaqueline Silva (MDB).
