The CPI of the Legislative Chamber of the Federal District will try to hear once again the former Secretary of Public Security, Anderson Torres, after the deposition scheduled this week was not carried out. He should have been heard this Thursday (9) to explain the planning of security actions in the protests in Brasilia on January 8, which culminated in the invasion and destruction of the headquarters of the Three Powers.

According to the chair of the commission, Torres should be heard next Thursday (16th), at 10am, in a reserved session of the CPI without the presence of the press and without broadcasting by the District Chamber TV. However, the deputy rapporteur Hermeto (MDB), said that he can make the content of the testimony available to the public.

“What he says privately can be published,” he said. The president of the CPI, Chico Vigilante, added that “he said he has a lot to talk about, he wants to talk. We want him to speak. We don’t want his image exposed, we want the information”.

A People’s Gazette, the defense of Anderson Torres said that it analyzes the application. Last Wednesday (8), lawyer Rodrigo Roca told the report that the former secretary is interested in talking about the acts of January 8, but that there is nothing more to add beyond what he already told the Federal Police at the beginning of February, in a deposition of more than 10 hours.

For him, the logistics of taking him from the place where he is preventively arrested to the Legislative Chamber requires a police apparatus (as determined by Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court) with public money expenditure.
