The TRF-4 (Federal Regional Court of the 4th Region) decided this Monday (22) to temporarily dismiss Judge Eduardo Appio, responsible for the remaining cases of Operation Lava Jato in Paraná, from his duties.
The decision came from the Special Administrative Court of the court in session during the afternoon.
The court set a period of 15 days for the judge to present his prior defense in the case. The decision of the special court took place by majority, with divergence of four of the magistrates.
The Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office had been asking the judge to declare himself prevented from judging the operation’s cases due to political manifestations.
In an interview with GloboNews this Monday, the magistrate confirmed that he used the LUL22 login in the justice system until this year. He said it was an “isolated and individual protest” against an arrest that he considered illegal, that of today’s President Lula (PT).
