Court accepts Flávio Dino’s complaint against Monark

The Federal Court of São Paulo accepted the criminal complaint presented by the Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, against youtuber Bruno Aiub, known as Monark. The decision was made by federal judge Maria Isabel do Prado, from the 5th Criminal Court.

The minister accuses the digital influencer of slander, defamation and a crime against honor after insults due to his obesity during a live broadcast carried out by Monark in June this year.

The judge justified the decision by stating that Monark’s conduct targeted the minister’s honor as holder of a federal position, making the jurisdiction of the Federal Court valid.

In the reported episode, Monark made statements during his live broadcast criticizing the Minister of Justice. Dino later responded on social media, stating that he “trusts the Judiciary” to deal with cases of alleged offenses against honor.

A People’s Gazette, the influencer regretted that the Court accepted the complaint and pointed out political persecution. “In my view, this movement by Flávio Dino is another piece of the puzzle of political persecution that I face today and it is a shame that the Brazilian justice system accepted an accusation of such a paltry complaint as calling someone fat”, he declared.

Monark’s defense argued that the action was distributed in the Federal Court of São Paulo under the allegation that Flávio Dino was a federal public servant. The lawyers point out that he is, in fact, “a political agent who is, temporarily, in the position of a minister of State”, wrote Jorge Salomão, Monark’s lawyer.

Last Wednesday (26), Monark announced that he was moving to the United States “out of fear for my safety and also to continue my work”. The influencer stated that Brazil “has become a dictatorship of the Judiciary, there is no law anymore”.

In recent months, Monark has become a target of the judiciary for criticizing measures that he considers abusive imposed by the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) during last year’s electoral period. Much of the criticism was directed at the President of the Court, Minister Alexandre de Moraes.

The influencer had all social networks blocked, in June this year, due to an interview with deputy Filipe Barros (PL-PR) in which the parliamentarian warned about weaknesses in electronic voting machines based on an investigation opened at the request of the TSE itself, in which a hacker invasion of the system was confirmed.
