Manaus (AM) – Sixteen Bills of Law (PLs) were voted on by the councilors present in the first Order of the Day for 2023, held this Wednesday morning (8), in the Adriano Jorge plenary of the Manaus City Council (CMM). Of the approved PLs, three go to the sanction of the mayor of Manaus, David Almeida, and the other 13 for the approval of the respective commissions.

Among the projects with an opinion approved by the parliamentarians, is the authorship of councilor Professor Jacqueline (União Brasil). Bill nº 005/2022 establishes as permanent, in Manaus, the national campaign “Sinal Vermelho”, launched in 2020 by the National Council of Justice (CNJ) and which helps women victims of any type of violence to discreetly ask for help .

“We know that women are much more vulnerable, so with this campaign, we put the red sign even with lipstick, that every woman walks around with lipstick in her purse, and this sign will make the difference, because when the person who knows about this campaign and sees this woman with the red light, she will trigger the bodies that can help”,

explained the councilwoman.

The parliamentarian’s PL now goes for consideration by the members of the 18th Commission for the Defense and Protection of Women’s Rights of the Legislative House.

The president of the CMM, councilor Caio André, who coordinated the work in the plenary, said that from now on there are many discussions in favor of the population of Manaus to happen.

“Pretty full day. From now on, I hope that our days will be like this, we have a lot to discuss, many issues to deal with, many laws to discuss with society and, here in plenary, we are looking for better services and to transform Manaus into a better place to live. live,” said the president.

On Monday (13), the councilors will define the party blocks and the time of manifestation of each one during the Great Expedient, a measure that helps in the organization of the works of the councilors during the activities in plenary.
