The most democratic competition on the national calendar, the Copa do Brasil will have record awards in 2023. After the success of the 2022 edition, the championship arrives with an even greater bonus for the 92 participating teams. The winning team will pocket the amount of R$ 70 million reais, while the runner-up will receive R$ 30 million. In total, the champion can earn up to BRL 91.8 million, if he is part of Group I and competes in all phases of the competition.
The award for the finalists represents a 17% increase in relation to that paid by the entity in 2022. Champion of the last edition, Flamengo received R$ 60 million, while Corinthians, runner-up, pocketed R$ 25 million.
“The clubs will always be the protagonists in my management. For this reason, we decided to globally increase the prize pool for all participants. We will have a record award at all stages and this is something that is enough to reward all the investment that the clubs have made”said the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues.
“In addition to its democratic character, the Copa do Brasil is the only competition on the calendar in a knockout format. This guarantees excitement from start to finish for the fan.”added the president.
The quotas of the other phases also received an increase of up to 20%. In the letter sent by the CBF, on Wednesday (01), to the federations and clubs, there is a table of prize quotas with the values that the associations can receive in each phase of the dispute. The amounts to be paid to each club depend directly on their performance. Quotas will be distributed for each phase advance, respecting the group to which each club belongs.
