State deputy Janaina Paschoal (PRTB-SP) has been one of the main critics of Jair Bolsonaro (PL) among right-wingers. In an interview with People’s Gazette, she criticizes Bolsonaro supporters who preferred to vote based on their alignment with the former president rather than considering the candidates’ ideas. “Bolsonaro supported many people who do not genuinely defend right-wing agendas. These are cadres who will quickly negotiate with Lula. It’s sad!” she states.

The recent decisions of the Lula government on abortion, according to Janaina, can be considered an effect of the neglect of pro-life values ​​on the part of some sectors of the right. “It was no surprise. I warned myself that Lula would win and it would be necessary to mount resistance. The narrow-minded right that was in power did not listen to me and that was what happened. The protesters, who were abandoned by Bolsonaro, preferred to obey him rather than support cadres that effectively supported the agenda of life.”

For the deputy, the acts of 1/8 and the “excesses of Bolsonarism” brought damage to the right that was difficult to remedy. “It will take a long time for us to recover. It’s sad,” she comments.
