Company accused by Scarpa and Mayke of embezzlement says it is a victim

The history of Gustavo Scarpa and Mayke with Xland Holding Ltd. won another chapter last Sunday (12).

After the information that the players filed a lawsuit against the cryptocurrency company for embezzlement surfaced last week, Gabriel de Souza Nascimento, one of the company’s owners, stated for the first time in an interview with Fantástico, on TV Globo, that he was also victim of the disappearance of money and gave his side of the story.

In the conversation with the reporter, Gabriel puts Xland Holding Ltda. as one of the victims in the case and explains that the loss of money invested by the Palmeiras players, totaling R$ 10.8 million, was due to the fact that all the company’s operations were carried out through FTX, a company that went bankrupt in November 2022.

Due to the bankruptcy, still according to Gabriel, Xland Holding Ltda. is getting ready to meet with companies seeking compensation for their loss. According to him, the value of the loss exceeds R$ 80 million.

Questioned by the report if there would be any document or other type of proof that confirms the operations of Xland Holding Ltda in FTX, Gabriel de Souza Nascimento made it clear that “yes”, but did not present anything at any time for the time being.

Also in the report presented this Sunday, Fantástico had access to conversations between Gustavo Scarpa and Willian Bigode, a former club partner who introduced him to Xland Holding Ltda, and others involved in the case.

In the audios, the Nottingham Forest player, from England, is very worried and even agonized at times with the situation and with the loss of millions of reais that were invested in cryptocurrencies through Xland.

“I always saw stupid people who fell into pyramids, those things involving fraudsters. And seeing myself in a situation like that, for me, is being horrible. It’s almost all of my assets. I can’t run the risk of losing it”, says Scarpa in a of conversation snippets.

In addition to Scarpa, who was at Palmeiras until the end of 2022, and Mayke, who is still a player for the São Paulo club, this Sunday’s TV Globo report informs that there is evidence that the Weverton goalkeeperPalmeiras and the Brazilian national team, also invested through Xland.

Despite contacting the report, the goalkeeper preferred not to comment on the matter. However, Gabriel de Souza Nascimento confirmed that there is already an agreement between the company and the Palmeiras goalkeeper that has not yet been paid.

Relationship between the owner of the accused company and Willian Bigode

Gabriel de Souza Nascimento informs that Willian Bigode’s company, cited in Scarpa and Mayke’s police report as responsible for presenting Xland’s business to the two, received a commission for each client that the cryptocurrency company managed to close.

According to the report by Fantástico, Willian Bigode said in a statement to the police last week that he had no financial gain from the relationship with Xland. In addition, the defense of the player who currently defends Fluminense confirms that the attacker lost more than R$ 17 million in investments with the negotiation.
