The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) released this Monday (23) a public letter in which it expresses its “unrestricted and unconditional” support for the permanence of businessman Josué Gomes da Silva in the presidency of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp) .
In the document, the president of CNI, Robson Braga de Andrade, defends the democratic process of law and the legal processes for choosing presidents and leaders and reiterates confidence in the current leader to lead the challenge of reindustrialization of the country together with the Industry System.
Josué Gomes was removed from office last week, during an extraordinary meeting organized by the entity. On Friday (20), Fiesp declared that it had a new president on an interim basis. Jurist Miguel Reale Júnior, who is part of Gomes’ defense, said that the case should be judicialized.

“Dear President,
The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) defends and believes in the democratic process of choosing its leaders to lead employers’ unions.
As already manifested in previous positions, the CNI respects the democratic rule of law, and the legal processes for choosing presidents and leaders to fulfill, through voting, the will of the majority.
The national industry is in a hurry to reindustrialize Brazil. The sector presented a Resumption Plan to the current government. It is their representatives who will lead – with the Legislative, Judiciary and Executive powers; and with society – actions for the country to grow in a sustainable manner. Only then, giving importance to the role of industry, will we move towards a more economically and socially just society.
CNI recognizes that businessman Josué Gomes da Silva, president-elect of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP), has a strategic role in driving this positive agenda. He has all the capacity, in addition to the respect and recognition of his peers, to work and raise the potential of industries in São Paulo and Brazil to the desirable level for the growth and development of the country”, says the publication, signed by Robson Braga from Andrade.
