CMM makes ‘historical reparation’ when processing PL that equals base salary to the minimum value of BRL 1,320

Manaus (AM) — The mayor of Manaus (CMM), councilor Caio André (PSC), pointed out that the 18th Legislature of the House promotes a “Historic Repair” with the Bill (PL) authored by the Board of Directors, which provides for the value of the cabinet budget at the CMM.

With the change, unanimously approved by councilors at this Wednesday’s Plenary Session (05), the amount paid to Commissioned Parliamentary Assistants (APCs) level 1 will be equal to the current minimum wage. The Bill has advanced to be analyzed by the 2nd Committee on Constitution, Justice and Writing (CCJR) and will continue to be processed by the Legislative House.

The APCs work directly in the offices and are responsible for preparing opinions, legislative proposals, organizing meetings, conducting demand surveys, among other activities.

During this Wednesday’s Ordinary Meeting, the president of the House explained that the update of the salaries of the APCs follows a joint determination of bodies such as the State Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPE-AM), Labor Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPT-AM), National Institute Social Security (INSS) and Municipal Attorney General’s Office (PGM).

Caio André pointed out that the change in value follows the current minimum wage, of R$ 1,320, to be paid to APC-1 positions. Currently, under Law No. 526 of December 15, 2022, the minimum amount is BRL 500. The parliamentarian complemented his speech by highlighting that the increase in the cabinet budget will not impact the House budget.

“This increase in the cabinet budget will come out of the food allowance. It is an adjustment that the City Council of Manaus is making, bringing the possibility of an exchange, bringing the values ​​of the food stamp into the office budget, ensuring that our employees have their social security and labor rights protected”

said Caio André.

The president of the CMM also thanked the commitment of the councilors for discussing the proposition that will benefit the employees of the House.

“This project is a rescue for the servants of the House, mainly the servants of the cabinet budget. Our Commissioned Parliamentary Advisors were (with salaries) behind since the pandemic and needed to keep up with the minimum wage. This is the rescue that the Chamber is doing at the moment without bringing any increase in funds for the offices”

said Caio André.
