CMM councilors define presidents, vices and members of the 24 committees of the House

Commissions assume activities for the 2023-2024 biennium, under the management of President Caio André

Manaus (AM) – The Manaus City Council (CMM) defined, this Tuesday (7), the presidents, vice presidents, and members of the House committees. In all, there are 24 commissions occupied by councilors and alternates, some of whom are allies of the mayor of Manaus David Almeida (Avante).

The session began at 9:30 am, in the Adriano Jorge plenary, and ended in the early afternoon. In addition to the 24 commissions related to matters of public interest, the members of the Parliamentary Coordination were also defined. According to the president of the CMM, councilor Caio André (PSC), with the definitions of the commissions, the works in the Municipal Parliament of the year 2023 can start effectively.

“Now the committees are starting to work, the plenary is back to its normal activities. Tomorrow (08) we already have an agenda, we are already going to some votes that are late and I am sure that we will have a very productive year”, he said.

Founder of the Commission for the Defense and Protection of Women’s Rights, Councilwoman Glória Carratte (PL) returns to chair the commission. The parliamentarian stated that women will have even more space in the CMM.

“Now we have the defense of women de facto and de jure, even more so today that women are gaining more and more positions, especially in politics. So, I want to say that women can count on me and our commission. We have wonderful projects for this year 2023”, emphasized the councilor.

Vice-president of the Commission for Consumer Protection in the 1st biennium of the 18th Legislature, councilor Eduardo Assis (Avante) now assumes the chairmanship of the commission, with the commitment to double the activities.

“We go to the communities, listen to their (population) problems. There are many claims made by the population. I am pending a public hearing with the energy supply company to address the issue of meters”, he said.
