Clécio celebrates resumption of the Federative Pact and presents projects for the development of Amapá – News of Brazil

At a meeting of the governors with President Lula, this Friday, 27th, in Brasília, Clécio Luís, from Amapá, celebrated the resumption of dialogue between the federal government and the states and the Federal District. On the occasion, the manager of Amapá presented projects that, if they receive investments from the Union, will help in the development of the state and integrate the Amazon region.
The development projects for the Amazon region were presented by the president of the Consortium, Helder Barbalho. “Most of these works are complex, depending on the allocation of resources and a series of factors. But the most important thing is that, in the first days of the government, we already have the opportunity to present these projects to the president. I leave very excited because there was a gesture from the federal government, to resume this dialogue after four years, and the governors were quiescent. If we unite, things move forward”, commented Clecio.
Vice President Geraldo Alckimin and government ministers also participated in the agenda at the Planalto Palace, who highlighted the new investment plan for transport, energy, social and urban infrastructure, and communication; and the program to reduce queues for surgeries, exams and consultations, and the movement for vaccination.
Randolfe Rodrigues, senator from Amapá and government leader in the National Congress, also attended the meeting. It was the second time that the governors met with the president. The first was the day after the January 8 attack on the Três Poderes buildings in Brasília.
Development for Amapá
Three projects with regional impacts and others for local development were presented by Amapá. One of them was the conclusion and extension of the BR-156, the oldest road project in the country, which can territorially connect the state to the rest of the country.
The Marajó Waterway, which seeks to shorten traffic between Amapá and Pará along the region’s rivers, was also another initiative shown to the federal government. In addition, the port and logistics vocation of the mouth of the Amazon River, construction of waterway terminals and macro drainage of channels in Macapá and Santana were mentioned.
“We also ask for some kind of compensation for the insecurity we have been experiencing since August 2022. We want help from the federal government to restore fiscal security. Without fiscal management, we cannot carry out works and manage the important areas”, highlighted Governor Clécio.
“These are common guidelines for those of us who live in the Amazon and that is why we are looking for ways to integrate the region, mainly through ports and highways. Maintaining good relations results in State actions that benefit the population”, completed.
New Federal Government
Lula made a pacification speech to the governors, guaranteeing that there will be a better relationship between the new government and all managers and the resumption of measures, such as the Minha Casa, Minha Vida program.
“We are going to show Brazil that governing in a civilized way is important to find peace in this country. We need to make sure that the spread of hate stops, that what happened on January 8th will not happen again. We are going to recover democracy and its essentiality is that we can say what we want, as long as it does not obstruct the rights of others. Therefore, I say that Brazil will return to normality”, said the president.
