The action is scheduled to take place on May 31st and June 1st
Manaus (AM) – The second edition of the “Câmara Cidadã” project is confirmed for May 31st and June 1st. This time the initiative comes closer to the population of the south zone of the capital, with the offer of 100 free services at the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the Amazon, in the area known as bola da Suframa.
In its first edition, with the proposal to provide free services and assistance and bring the population closer to the municipal parliament, the Citizen’s Chamber served more than 8,300 people in the east zone of the city, on March 30th and 31st.
The objective of the mayor of Manaus (CMM), councilor Caio André (PSC), responsible for rescuing and reformulating the project, is to take the task force to all areas of the city, including rural areas.
“We have no doubt that we made history in the first edition. We have this mission and the Chamber will never again be seen without the Citizen Chamber. It is Manaus who wins with this, it is the manauara citizen to whom we owe all our services. Now it’s time to move on to the next edition”, said the congressman.
More services and new structure
In addition to expanding the range of services offered, which is more than triple the first edition, the structure will also be larger, improving service to the population.
“The bodies that participated in the first edition will bring more services to citizens, but we will have new partnerships like Sinetram, which has already signaled that it will collaborate with us. To accommodate this increase in the number of services, we will also have a larger structure, with 100 meters more than the previous edition, totaling 800 square meters”, detailed André Galvão, Director of Special Projects at CMM.
“And as in the first edition, we will have parliamentarians serving the population inside offices that will be set up by the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the Amazon, in addition to a space that will receive a popular tribune, where councilors will listen to the demands of community leaders of the population of that region of the city”, added Galvão.
First edition
More than 30 free services were offered in 16 hours of activities in partnership with bodies from the City of Manaus and the State Government, in addition to private sector companies. More than 8,300 people were assisted during the event, which had a 700m² structure.
In addition to the services, one of the highlights of the event was the holding of a People’s Tribune in which councilors listened to and accepted the population’s demands, which have been forwarded by parliamentarians to the Municipal Executive.
