Senator Ciro Nogueira (PP-PI), former Minister of the Civil House in the government of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), told the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that he was not aware of the draft found by the Federal Police in the house of Anderson Torres, former Minister of Justice and former Secretary of Public Security for the Federal District. He also said that he was not consulted on the legal aspects of the document. The text suggested to Bolsonaro the possibility of establishing a state of defense at the TSE headquarters.

Nogueira was heard as a witness for Bolsonaro’s defense in a lawsuit filed by the PDT over the meeting with ambassadors, at the Palácio da Alvorada, last year, to address alleged irregularities in the electronic ballot boxes and in the electoral process. The information was published by the newspapers The State of S. Paulo It is Folha de S. Paulo. On this subject, the former minister said that he did not participate in the organization of the event and that he attended the meeting as a guest.

On Tuesday (7), the Electoral Inspector General, Minister Benedito Gonçalves, decided to keep the draft in the lawsuit filed by the PDT and denied the request made by the former president’s defense to exclude the issue from the case. On the other hand, Bolsonaro’s lawyers managed, this Wednesday (8), to postpone the analysis of the TSE plenary on the maintenance or exclusion of the document from the process. The date moved from this Thursday (9) to next Tuesday (14).
