Cineteatro Guarany shows short films produced in the city of Parintins

The exhibition will show 23 films from 1 to 5 minutes in length

Manaus (AM) – This Saturday (August 26) the Cineclube de Arte will hold “Parintins Cine”, an exhibition of short films produced by filmmakers from the municipality of Amazonas. Admission is free, and the session will start at 6:30 pm at Cineteatro Guarany, located at Avenida 7 de Setembro, 1546, Centro.

The exhibition will feature a collection of 23 short films of 1, 4 and 5 minutes, produced on Tupinambarana Island between 2002 and 2004. of films in the state of Amazonas, mainly in the interior.

Most of the shorts are the result of cinema workshops promoted by Amacine Futuros Cineastas for the “UM Amazonas” and “Curta 4” festivals. Some others were part of the film festival “Focaliza Parintins” in December 2022, promoted by the University of the State of Amazonas (UEA).

“It is extremely important that we bring this Amazonian representativeness to the screens, so that, especially the population itself, knows and prestige the works that come from here”,

highlighted the filmmaker Z Leão, who was the curator of all the films in the exhibition.

For Ray Santos, filmmaker who produced the film “O Lamento”, the initiative is very important, especially for producers who live in the interior of the state. “It is a happiness, for me, it is a moment of great gratitude to everyone who contributed to this production. It really is a milestone in my career in the audiovisual field”,

declared Ray.

The Cineclube de Arte is an initiative of the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. The project aims to promote culture in the state through cinema and audiovisual.
