The program features six films produced by the artist from the municipality of Anori

Cineteatro Guarany, located on Avenida Sete de Setembro, Centro, resumes the free program of the Amazon Film Festival, starting at 6:30 pm, this Saturday (4). This time, featuring the films of filmmaker Z Leão. The exhibition of short films is free and has free classification for all audiences.

The event, held by the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy, will show six films produced by the filmmaker born in the municipality of Anori (195 kilometers from Manaus).

The Secretary of Culture, Marcos Apolo Muniz, says that the initiative prioritizes publicizing the importance of audiovisual materials made by artists in our state.

“This initiative generates an opportunity to highlight the independent audiovisual scenario and show the talent of our artists, in addition to attracting a larger audience to our spaces and bringing this approach to this artistic medium”, stated Apolo.

With 39 years in the profession, Z Leão has held more than 200 cinema workshops and courses, as well as documentaries in 30 municipalities in Amazonas and in states such as Rondônia, Roraima and Rio Grande do Sul. The filmmaker also took his audiovisual experience to Latin American countries such as Uruguay and Venezuela.

In all, Z Leão managed to democratize access to the concepts of the seventh art for more than seven thousand people. The filmmaker has already produced around 1,200 one-minute films, in addition to 300 short films and documentaries.
