A group of 80 restaurant owners and businesspeople from the food sector in Curitiba met last Tuesday (17), at Cozinha do Bom Gourmet, for the third edition of FoodCo. Experience. Made by FoodCo. – foodtech which offers content, mentoring and solutions in the food service –, the event promoted a nine-hour marathon of exchanging ideas about the latest trends and transformations in the sector with leading market experts. The impact of tax reform on food, the focus on marketing with essence and the new tools offered by artificial intelligence were the main topics on the agenda.

In its third edition, FoodCo. Experience proposed a different and more immersive format, with a full day of activities, such as panels of national experts, workshops, pitchesmentoring with experts, board consultancy, as well as quality networking and happy hour.

In the program, the event was attended by panelists Guilherme Moro Domingos, lawyer for Abrasel, the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants; Brunno Montolli, Head B2B at Interfoods/Duo Gourmet; and Yuri de Melo, CEO of COZI.ai. Mentoring and boards Advisory services were carried out by Leo Teixeira, founder of NaMesa, and Hélcio Tessaro, executive director of Human Resources at Unidas Locações de Carros.

“The idea is precisely to offer a space where discussions take place freely regarding everything that involves the universe of food service: management, operational, sales and marketing. We understand that it is also relevant within the sector and contributes to the debate”, explains Patrícia Lourenço, Head of FoodCo.

Relevant exchanges

In the morning, FoodCo. Experience promoted three panels, starting with a practical and specific explanation of tax reform by the lawyer for the Brazilian Association of Bars and Restaurants (Abrasel), Guilherme Moro Domingos. The tax changes were summarized in a less technical way by Moro, who also highlighted the importance of the sector being attentive to debates on tax changes and prepared for a likely increase in the tax burden in the coming years.

Next, Brunno Montolli, Head B2B at Interfoods/Duo Gourmet, discussed marketing strategies that humanize contact with the customer, valuing the essence and history of gastronomic operations. The use of software to manage customer relationships, the need to facilitate the purchasing journey and originality in communication were also addressed by Montolli.

The use of technology with humanization was also discussed in the panel by Yuri de Melo, CEO of COZI.ai, who explained in a practical way how Artificial Intelligence and interactive technologies can facilitate the operational part of gastronomic enterprises. Yuri also spoke about organizing data in a tactical way and the use of chatbots of artificial intelligence in the creation of content and marketing and communication strategies.

Mediated by the Head of FoodCo., all panels held in the morning had space for questions and comments from participants. “We achieved our objective of generating even more exchange on various relevant subjects, with a lot of engagement from participants, many questions, doubts and contributions with cases and experiences. These were very valuable exchanges for the sector and on the food service”, says Patrícia.

In the afternoon, after a networking lunch, the FoodCo participants. Experience had access to mentoring and boards consultancy on sales strategies, with Leo Teixeira, founder of NaMesa, and on people management, with Hélcio Tessaro, executive director of Human Resources at Unidas Locações de Carros. Divided into small groups, participants were able to ask experts questions, focused on their own businesses.

“I believe that this new format worked very well, we are receiving very positive returns”, says the Head of FoodCo., revealing that the next editions of the event will follow this new format in 2024, when four editions will be held. “The calendar is being defined and the idea is to bring big names from the sector and from across Brazil for mentoring and mediated panels”, she says.
