So far, Brazilian technicians have not yet been contacted
The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is targeting a foreign coach to lead the national team in the coming years. According to columnist Bruno Andrade, from UOL Sport, coach Carlo Ancelotti, who currently leads Real Madrid, from Spain, could be one of the CBF’s options.
The Italian coach has a contract until the middle of 2024 with the Spanish team and has already stated a few times that he intends to fulfill his bond with the club. However, the CBF had already been informally discussing Ancelotti behind the scenes, even before the World Cup in Qatar.
Carlo Ancelotti would be willing to listen to the new project of the Brazilian team. Real’s current moment in the season also weighs in favor of the manager’s challenge, since the team lost the leadership of the League and the Spanish Super Cup final to rival Barcelona.
Negotiations
Even with the statements made by the Italian, Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF, is planning a meeting with Ancelotti in Spain. To help in the negotiation, the Brazilian team can count on Ronaldo Fenômeno. According to Bruno Andrade, the former player and current owner of Cruzeiro made himself available to the CBF to collaborate with contacts of weight coaches in Europe.
Ronaldo has a great relationship with the management of Real Madrid, where he played for five seasons and scored 104 goals. In addition, he worked with Ancelotti at AC Milan in Italy between 2007 and 2008.
The Brazilian team will return to the field after the failure at the World Cup in March, on the first FIFA date of the year. The CBF’s idea is to hire a new coach for these friendly matches, which still do not have defined opponents, but it does not rule out extending the search for a replacement for Tite.
Search
Despite the predilection, the president of the CBF continues the search for a ‘respectful coach’ and ‘offensive’. Ednaldo has other European names on the agenda, but he doesn’t see any with the same level of unanimity. The preference for the next commander of the selection is someone who speaks Portuguese or Spanish.
So far, Brazilian technicians have not yet been contacted. Also according to the columnist, big names in national football such as Fernando Diniz, Dorival Júnior, Cuca and Mano Menezes were not invited. In addition to these, the Portuguese and multi-champion for Palmeiras, Abel Ferreira, is also not in the quota.
