The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) officially recognized this Friday (25) the Brazilian title of Clube Atlético Mineiro, won in 1937, on the occasion of the Tournament of Champions. On February 17, 2022, the CBF received an in-depth study on the issue from the Alvinegro board.
After a year and seven months of meticulous analysis, involving members of the CBF Registration, Legal, Competitions, Governance and Compliance boards supported by external studies, in addition to the Collections and Memories area of the CBF itself, which focused on documents and other information, the confederation formally recognized the title of the Rooster.
For the CBF, Atlético could have claimed the title years ago, joining several clubs that ratified in March 2010 recognition for the conquests of the Brazil Cup and the Roberto Gomes Pedrosa Tournament.
At the time, Palmeiras, Santos, Fluminense, Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Bahia had their claim accepted by the CBF as Brazilian champions for having won the disputes of the Brazil Cup and the Roberto Gomes Pedrosa Tournament.
