CBF has four 1st shelf targets in Europe; brazilians are plan B

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has four targets defined in Europe for the position of coach of the Brazilian national team. All names are considered on the first shelf of importance and the entity does not want to leave this level.
President Ednaldo Rodrigues will go to Europe to discuss the successor of coach Tite in charge of the Brazilian national team. Contacts intensified after the former commander signed his resignation.
Carlo Ancelotti, Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique and José Mourinho are the four options that the CBF is working on for the post that belonged to Tite. Ancelotti signaled his willingness to stay at Real Madrid, but Ednaldo hasn’t given up and wants to meet the Italian in person.
As reported by UOL, a meeting is being lined up behind the scenes with Luis Enrique, former coach of the Spanish national team who is now one of the CBF’s alternatives, with the endorsement of Ronaldo Fenômeno.
Ednaldo doesn’t want to go down to the second shelf of European coaches. Other names have even been speculated, such as Manuel Pellegrini, from Betis, but they are not in the president’s plans.
If the quartet refuses, the new coach must be Brazilian. If you can’t convince any of the four technicians that you see as ‘unanimous and unquestionable’, the Brazilians should be activated.
Names like Dorival Jr, Cuca, Mano Menezes and Fernando Diniz are discussed at the CBF, but none of them would bring the effect of unanimity sought by the entity.
WHAT’S BEHIND
Ronaldo Fenômeno offered help to the president of the CBF to initiate contacts with the top coaches that Ednaldo wants to meet.
Working well with young players is one of the factors taken into account by the manager. Ednaldo is enthusiastic about Brazil’s youth teams and has been encouraged by the reports he receives and reads frequently.
The CBF tried Pep Guardiola, but heard from the coach’s agent that “it is impossible” for him to leave Manchester City (ING), where he recently renewed his contract until 2025.
The idea is to have a coach by the end of February. The selection’s first commitment in this new cycle takes place at the end of March with a FIFA-date. The possibility of having an interim coach at the time does not like the president, although it has not been completely ruled out.
