Manaus (AM) — Casa Mamãe Margarida, located at Rua Edmundo Soares, 27, in São José 2, is the third stop of “O Sarau do Feupuudo”, which takes place on April 20th, at 3pm.

The clowning show presents a playful, sensitive proposal and invites the public to experience the magic of being on a stage, with different artistic languages. The solo is part of the project “Feupuudo Circulando nos Abrigos” and, this month, it has already visited Lar Batista Janell Doyle and Casa dos Filhos.

“They were excellent presentations. I believe we managed to achieve our objective, which was to bring a little lightness to the places, through the sensitivity and playfulness of the show”,

says Marcos Efraim, who plays the clown.

“The locals were very receptive to the entire team, which had great importance in the success of the actions.”

Efraim says that Feupuudo is a mute, curious and grumpy clown, who got a new costume for the season in shelters in the North and East zones.

“The costumes are more underground. Feupuudo is from the street, an orphan, homeless and, over time, we changed his clothes”, comments the artist. “Another new feature of this circuit are the accessibility resources in Libras, our proposal is to create moments of connection with those welcomed.”

The project was included in notice no. 005/2023 — Manaus Identidade Cultural Demais Linguagens Competition-Prize, promoted by the Municipal Council of Culture (Concultura), with resources from the Paulo Gustavo Law.

Classic

According to Efraim, the character is a classic clown, who works with physical comedy. Feupuudo appeared by chance, in 2018, after the artist’s trip to the Northeast, in which he had to take care of children.

“I needed to carry out a recreational activity with children, they gave me a nose and a wig and I was delighted with the experience. When I returned to Manaus, I started researching clowning and developing Feuupudo”, says the actor. “The name was given by master Alexandre Penha, during a clowning workshop”.

In addition to Marcos Efraim, who acts and signs the artistic direction, the project’s technical sheet has Ananda Sarah in production coordination, Ezequiel Michiles and Leonardo Alfaia in production assistance, Lay Amorim as social media, César Nogueira in photography, Manuella Barros in press office, Caio Alves in visual identity and Crisoney Gomes in Libras.

Trajectory

“O Sarau do Feupuudo” has already been presented in seven municipalities in Amazonas, at Sesc Ver-o-Peso, in Belém; and at the Festival in Solus Tucujus, in Macapá. In Manaus, the production circulated in several cultural spaces and, in 2022, participated in the 15th Amazonas Theater Show and the second and third edition of the Amazonas Circus Festival.

Last year, the show was part of the program at the 38th Sesc Amazonas Book Fair, competed in the competitive show at the Tapajós Theater Festival, in Santarém, and won in the categories of “Best Actor”, “Best Set” and “Best Costume ”.

Schedule

In 2024, the clown Feupuudo is confirmed at the opening of the Solos do Pará Festival, on May 1st, in Santarém. In the event’s program, Marcos Efraim will teach a clowning workshop.

“This year we will also hold the second edition of the ‘On the road’ project, it is ‘O Soiree do Feupuudo on the road 2.0’”,

advances the artist.
