“Sapatonic Tour”

Event promotes topics on experiences, mental and sexual health for the LGBTQIAPN+ public

Manaus (AM) – This Saturday (07), Casa das Artes, located in Largo de São Sebastião, hosts the 4th edition of the “Tour Sapatônico”, an event held by Miga Sua Lôca, an LGBTQIAPN+ Cultural and Creative Economy Center in the Amazon. The program takes place from 4pm, with conversation circles that address various themes focused on the community.

Held since 2019, the event has the support of the Government of Amazonas, through the Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. The manager and founder of Miga Sua Lôca, Ravi Music On, highlights the importance of initiatives like this, in addition to support from the State.

“Since the first edition, we have been occupying creative houses and some spaces at the Department of Culture, promoting the agenda of lesbian and bisexual women, in relation to motherhood, mental and sexual health, research, experiences”,

highlights Ravi.

This year, the “Sapatônico Tour” features discussions that address different themes, highlighting the experiences of lesbian and bisexual women, in different contexts.

Theme: “The History of the Lesbian Women’s Movement in Manaus”, with Cleo Costa, graduated in Pedagogy from the Federal University of Amazonas, researcher in educational policies and gender anthropology.

4:40 pm to 5:20 pm
Theme: “Violence against lesbian/bisexual women and vulnerability in mental health”, with Jeniffer Mattos and Tainá Conde.
Jeniffer Mattos, lesbian, Amazonian woman born and raised in the east zone of Manaus, master’s student in the postgraduate program in social anthropology at the Federal University of Amazonas, specialist in public health, family health, management of public and social policies and gender and sexuality, member of the study and research group on gender, sexualities and intersectionalities (GESECS-UFAM). Graduated in Social Work from the Federal University of Amazonas and researcher in the area of ​​gender, sexualities, LGBTQIA+ women’s health and violence against women.

Tainá Conde, bisexual woman, Affirmative Clinical Psychologist, collaborator in the Social Collective “Miga Sua Lôca Cultura e Diversidade”, Couples Psychotherapist, Esp. Mental Health and Psychosocial Care (UNIFIA), Eps. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (COGNITIVO), Training in Gender and Sexual Diversity (WAINER). Educator/Communicator on the topics: Mental Health of Women and the LGBTQIAP+ Population.

Theme: “Maternity and the reproductive rights of LésBi women”, with Marília Freire.
Marília Freire, woman, dyke, mother and wife. Effective public servant at the Court of Justice of Amazonas, since 2007. Human Rights and Women’s Rights Activist since 2005. President of the Associação Coletivo Feminista Humaniza, which works to combat obstetric violence in Amazonas. She is part of the State Front for Deincarceration, the Permanent Forum of Women of Manaus, Permanent Forum of LGBT + Social Movements, and PSOL-AM where she is currently Secretary of Policies for Women of the State Directory of Amazonas and Municipal Directory of Manaus.

6pm to 6:40pm
Theme: “Experiences of Indigenous LésBi Women”, with Thaís Desana (@thaisdsn_), master’s student in Social Anthropology, creator of Coletivo Miriã Mahsa (@miriamahsa) Collective of LGBTQIA+ Indigenous People of Amazonas.
