Carlos Bolsonaro announces that he will leave command of his father’s social networks – 04/16/2023 – Politics

Councilman Carlos Bolsonaro (Republicanos-RJ) announced this Sunday (16) that he will leave the command of the social networks of his father, Jair Bolsonaro (PL).

“After more than a decade ahead and having created the social networks of @jairbolsonaro, I inform you that very soon the end of this volunteering life cycle will come”, he published on a social network.

Without saying when he will leave the role, he said he will start a new phase of life, “nothing impulsive, just fair and looking forward to a new phase of life”.

Carlos stated that those were years that gave him “a lot of satisfaction” and that he is sure that it was a worthwhile job for “good people”. He complained, however, of being “alone for years” and receiving treatment that “not even a mouse deserves”. He did not name names.

There was an expectation for Carlos to stay ahead of his father’s social media and lead the defense of his father’s legacy alongside those of the former president. But he is expected to remain one of Bolsonaro’s top advisers.

Elected in 2020 to the City Council of Rio de Janeiro, he has a mandate until 2024. The next electoral cycle is in the plans of Carlos’ older brother. Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) told the Sheet who wants to run for mayor of Rio de Janeiro next year.

Under the tutelage of Carlos, the so-called “hate office” operated during Bolsonaro’s administration, formed by special advisors to the Presidency and appointed as responsible for producing content to attack people previously chosen by the group.

In the 2022 elections, Bolsonaro’s campaign for re-election experienced a crack in communication between centrão allies and Carlos.
