The Caprichoso and Garantido bull pens hoisted flags in support of the LGBTQIAPN+ population

Manaus (AM) – Parintins is more colorful and with all the colors of the rainbow. The Caprichoso and Garantido bull pens hoisted flags of the LGBTQIAPN+ population in partnership with the Government of Amazonas. The action was an initiative of the Secretary of State for Justice, Human Rights and Citizenship (Sejusc) for International Pride Day, celebrated this Wednesday (28).

Out of respect for the rivalry, the colors of the flags were changed. In the Zeca Xibelão corral, the red part of the item was replaced by a coral hue. In Cidade Garantido, blue gave way to lilac.

Fans of both bullocks celebrated upon seeing the flag of the LGBTQIAPN+ population below the pavilion.

Jander Lobato, president of Caprichoso, said that the act signifies the folk association’s support for diversity. “I always say that Caprichoso is the ox that takes care of minorities, the ox that fights for all social causes and diversity. That’s what Caprichoso is, here you are free to love and smile as you say the tune because all forms of love are welcome here. It is the ox of the people, it is the ox of all races, it is the ox of all peoples and also of diversity.”

“Guaranteed has no prejudice. Garantido has in its staff both artists and choreographers, dancers and different people. There is no prejudice, everyone is treated equally by Garantido. This is a flag that we have defended for a long time, both in our tunes and in the arena”, said Adson Silveira, interim president of Garantindo.

Sejusc deals, within the Executive Secretariat for Human Rights (SEDH), with public policies aimed at the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transsexual, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual/arromantic/agender, pansexual/polysexual, non-binary and plurality of sexual orientations and gender variations.

Jussara Pedrosa, head of Sejusc, pointed out that the festival period coincides with Pride Day and the secretary wanted to use the date to, in a pioneering way, unite the oxen with the cause, hoisting the flag next to its pavilions.

“Nothing fairer as the secretariat for human rights and citizenship also defend the causes and guarantees of the LGBTQIAPN+ community. So, today is the first time that we are flying the LGBT pride flags in the corrals. This is the first partnership of many, we hope that in the coming years we will continue with these actions defending the rights of the LGBTQIAPN + population ”, she points out.
