Considered the largest in the world, Icon of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s new cruise, is due to debut in April 2024. With 365 meters in length, 40 restaurants and a water park, the ship performed its first test in open waters in last Thursday (22).
With a maximum capacity of up to 7,600 passengers and 2,350 crew, the vessel weighs 250,800 tons. Its water park has six waterslides and the first open-air free-fall slide on a ship, measuring 14 meters in height.
In addition, the ship offers its passengers seven swimming pools, nine hot tubs, a surf simulator, sports court, mini golf courses and a climbing wall.
From her home base in Miami, Icon of the Seas will sail seven-night Caribbean voyages throughout the year. It is already possible to make reservations for the April 2024 trip. The cabin has an initial cost of R$ 8,623 per person.
Today the cruise considered the largest in the world is the Wonder of the Seas, also from Royal Caribbean. Inaugurated last year, the vessel is approximately 362 meters long and has 18 decks — two less than the Icon of the Seas.
