Cano summons Fluminense fans for Marcelo’s performance this Friday at Maracanã: ‘Faz o M’

Striker and idol of the Fluminense fans, Germán Cano invited the tricolors to present Marcelo, who returned to the team from Rio de Janeiro after 16 years in Europe. On social media, the Argentine thanked the party held at Maracanã in the match against Flamengo, but asked for the public to be present when the left-back arrived at the same stadium.

— Three-color crowd speaks, this is Germán Cano. Passing by to give you all a message. Yesterday’s party was very beautiful, but I want to stop by to invite you to receive Marcelo at Maracanã. Everyone wants to see him arrive and we’re going to be together – said the tricolor ace.

Marcelo arrived in Rio de Janeiro this Thursday morning with his wife Clarice and their two children, Enzo and Liam. The Brazilian side was welcomed by hundreds of tricolors at Galeão Airport. His family will also be present at his presentation, which will take place at Maracanã, at 6:30 pm (Brasília time).

The event will feature a special show by Filipe Ret, who will take the stage at 7:30 pm. Following the show and presentation, the number 12 will give a press conference in the stadium’s auditorium.

The event will be free for members, who must check-in at nense.com.br. For non-members, tickets will be sold at BRL 12 (full) and BRL 6 (half), on the site fluminensefc.futebolcard.com. The club will also collect non-perishable food, which must be delivered at the entrance to the stadium and will be donated to a charity.

Marcelo signed a contract with Fluminense until December 2024, with an option to renew until the end of 2025. The playmaker is one of the great jewels of the club’s youth teams. In 2005, aged just 17, he was promoted to the professional ranks, taking full ownership of the position the following year. The athlete defended the tricolor armor in 40 matches and scored six goals. For Team de Guerreiros, he won the titles of the Carioca Championship and the 2005 Rio Cup.
