Candidates report anxiety before Enem results – 01/15/2024 – #Hashtag

Enem (National High School Exam) grades will be released this Tuesday (16), after 3 months of waiting. The test serves as the main gateway to higher education and, therefore, the release of grades is a tense moment for those trying to get a place at public and private universities.

On the two Sundays that the exam was held, on November 5th and 12th, 2023, candidates from São Paulo still had to deal with the heavy rains that hit the city and caused flooding in schools and lack of electricity. There was also controversy due to the test questions.

In addition to problems with the weather, around 50 thousand candidates suffered from the distances between their homes and the test locations. The fear of not being able to take the exam was great.

Now, the seizure continues, but for another reason. The wait for the Enem grade, which was released late last year, was among the most talked about topics on X (formerly Twitter) in the country this Monday (15).

There were 3.9 million registered in the 2023 edition, but 1.2 million of these did not take the test. The abstention rate was 32%. The exam score is the main form of entry into public universities, through Sisu (Unified Selection System), and can also be applied to Prouni (University for All Program) and Fies (Student Financing Fund), for entry into individuals.

This year, Sisu will offer 264,360 places distributed across 127 higher education institutions. The institution with the highest number of vacancies is the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), with 9,240. Registration begins on January 22nd.

…others predict that the grade will not be enough to get the much-desired place at university.

One of the problems reported by internet users — in addition to the test itself and the delay in releasing grades — is the official website, which crashes due to the number of hits.
