Builders want Caixa to finance real estate – 06/26/2023 – Panel SA

Civil construction entrepreneurs are trying to convince Caixa Econômica Federal to increase the resources destined to financing housing for properties between R$ 350 thousand and R$ 500 thousand.

Today, properties in this price range, which the industry calls intermediate, are in limbo on the market.

In conversations with the state bank, they say that, for properties worth up to R$ 350,000, there are resources available via FGTS. At the other end, they say that banks prefer to use resources from the SBPE (Brazilian Savings and Loans System) to finance high-income properties, above R$500,000.

The builders consider that there is potential for sales between R$ 350,000 and R$ 500,000.

Conversations advanced at Caixa, but the companies, represented by the CBIC (Brazilian Chamber of the Construction Industry), assess that action will be needed at the Planalto Palace.
