Brazilian team beats Venezuela in the U-20 South American

Brazil overcame a first half of limitations on Friday night and scored three times in the final stage to beat Venezuela by 3-0, in a game in the second round of the hexagonal final of the South American Sub-20.

Once again, the team had goals from top scorer Vitor Roque, from Athletico, and vice scorer Andrey Santos, authors of six and five goals in the competition, respectively. The other was scored by Pedrinho.

At this stage of the tournament, six teams face each other in a single shift, and the one that finishes first will be the champion. Therefore, it is important that Brazil has achieved an elastic score, as the goal difference can count as a tiebreaker. It is precisely because of this criterion that the Brazilian team is in the lead, above Uruguay, despite both having six points. The next commitment of the team commanded by Ramon Menezes will be on Monday, against Paraguay.

Brazilians and Venezuelans had a first half of little inspiration in the Metropolitano de Techo, in Bogotá. Players like Marlon Gomes, further back, and Guilherme Biro, on the left, were participatory and looked for alternatives to open up space in the opposing defense, but did not find good answers in the conclusions of the plays, which died close to the area.

The best chances of the initial stage came only in the final minutes before the break. Goalkeeper Mycael, also from Athletioc, who has been having a great championship, avoided the Venezuelan goal by palming the ball after Kelsy’s header. Shortly after, it was the turn of scorer Vitor Roque to head and stop in a good intervention by goalkeeper Benítez.

After the creative limitations demonstrated in the first half, Brazil were incisive at the beginning of the second. Vitor Roque squandered an excellent chance in the opening minute, when he punctured the ball when he received a cross from Guilherme Biro inside the area, but quickly redeemed himself. At three, he received a low launch from Marlon Gomes and subtly played over the goalkeeper to clear the scoreboard.

The difficulties presented earlier were completely overcome after the goal, and the Brazilian team dominated Venezuela. There was a moment of oscillation in the second half, but soon stabilized and put two more balls in the net. Pedrinho scored after hitting first when receiving André, at 39, and vice-scorer Andrey Santos closed the scoring.
