Golden State Warriors shooting guard Gui Santos celebrated his debut with the NBA team. The player classified the experience as a dream and sent a message, saying that it was the beginning of the player’s journey in the best basketball in the world.
“A boy who came from a dreaming nation, fulfilling a small piece of his dreams! Just the beginning”wrote Gui Santos, 21, in a post on social media.
The Brazilian debuted for the Warriors on Thursday (16), in a 128-109 home defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder, at the Chase Center, in San Francisco. The shooting guard had two points, three rebounds and one assist in three minutes and 52 seconds on the court.
After playing his first season in the G-League, the NBA’s development league, for the Santa Cruz Warriors, Gui Santos, who also plays for the Brazilian team, signed a permanent contract with the franchise, until the end of the 2025/2026 season.
Now, the shooting guard can play in both the G-League and the main team.
The Warriors are eighth in the NBA Western Conference, with six wins and seven losses. The team will return to the NBA court on Saturday (18), at 10:30 pm (Brasília time), again at home and against OKC.
