Brazil wins bronze in international rhythmic gymnastics competition

The Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics team won the bronze medal in the Cluj-Napoca stage, in Romania, of the Challenge Cup. This Saturday (15), the Brazilian team, with Bárbara Galvão, Deborah Medrado, Duda Arakaki, Nicole Pírcio, Sofia Madeira and Victoria Borges, scored 64,500 points. Italy, with 70,050, was champion and Bulgaria, with 66,250, won silver. The Challenge Cup is an elite competition of the International Federation of the modality (FIG) being second only to the World Cup in the world circuit.
In individual disputes, Geovanna Santos finished in seventh place, the best position ever obtained by a Brazilian. Bárbara Domingos closed in 12th position in the dispute.
The season has been historic for Brazil. In March, the team won bronze for the first time in the overall at the Athens stage of the World Cup. In the individual, Barbara Domingos won the first individual green and yellow bronze in the Bulgarian stage of the World Cup and the unprecedented gold in the Grand Prix of Thiais, in France.
