The last friendly match for the Brazilian team before the Women’s World Cup will be against Germany, the current European runner-up, on April 11th. The announcement was made this Thursday (9) by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The game will take place in the city of Nuremberg (Germany), five days after the selection decided the title of the Women’s Final with England, European champion, in London. The two games will take place on the Fifa Date (period reserved by the world’s highest football body for teams to play friendlies or official matches), between April 3rd and 11th.
The clashes with two top 5 teams in the Fifa ranking will end the preparatory phase of the Brazilian team for the World Cup, starting on July 20, in Australia and New Zealand. England and Germany were finalists for the Women’s Euro in July 2022 – on the occasion the English team lifted the cup after a 2-1 victory over the German team.
The Brazilian team, led by coach Pia Sundhage, will debut in the group stage of the World Cup against Panama, on July 24, in Adelaide (Australia). Next, the country faces France, on the 29th, in Brisbane (Australia) and ends the first phase in a duel against Jamaica, on August 2, in Melbourne (AUS).
