Brazil loses to Israel and bids farewell to the U-20 World Cup – News of Brazil

Brazil’s campaign in the Men’s Under-20 World Cup came to an end this Saturday (3), after a 3-2 defeat by Israel at the Bicentenario Stadium, in San Juan (Argentina), in the quarterfinals of the competition.
Facing the current under-19 European runner-up, coach Ramon Menezes had difficulties to assemble his team, due to the absence of Mycael, Arthur, Robert and Kaiki Bruno. With many changes, the Brazilian team struggled to create attacking opportunities in the face of Israel’s strong marking.
For this reason, the score was only changed in the final stage, in the 10th minute, with a strong shot by striker Marcos Leonardo. However, four minutes later Khalaili left everything the same. As the 1-1 tie lasted until the end of the 90 minutes, the match had to go into overtime, in which Matheus Nascimento put Brazil ahead again with less than a minute of the ball rolling. However, two minutes later Shibli equalized the score again.
From there, Israel improved a lot and took control of the game, scoring the classification goal in the 17th minute and having two more opportunities to extend in two penalty kicks in the second stage of extra time. But the European team did not show efficiency in the opportunities. With that, Israel closed the confrontation in 3 to 2 and now faces Uruguay in the semifinal of the World Cup, which beat the United States by 2×0 on Sunday (4).
